Every three years, the AIA Wyoming Design and Honor Awards program recognizes excellence in the design, planning, and construction of projects located anywhere in the world that are designed by AIA Wyoming Architect members registered and licensed in Wyoming.

AIA Wyoming hosted its Annual Fall Conference + Design and Honor Awards in Casper at the M Building on Sept. 28‑30, 2023.

AIA Wyoming architects gathered at the Buffalo Bill Historical Center in Cody to celebrate architecture with a very diverse selection of continuing education programs and several acclaimed speakers.

“In today’s rapidly evolving world, technology has revolutionized every industry, and architecture is no exception. The integration of technology in architecture has brought about remarkable advancements, enhancing efficiency, accuracy and sustainability in design and construction processes. However, it is crucial to examine the potential drawbacks, such as over-reliance on technology and the risk of losing the human touch in design.”

Wyoming is a state of small architectural firms, including sole practitioners, firms of five or fewer employees and firms of 10 or fewer employees.

In 2022, the Wyoming Board of Architects and Landscape Architects (WBALA) set the goal of amending the Practice Act.

The A’23 was a lively event with a healthy turnout, excellent programs and fantastic tours.

After two years of virtual gatherings, AIA’s premier chapter leadership training event returned to Washington, D.C., Feb. 14-17, 2023, with a new name and an exceptional program.

The Public Awareness Committee is continuing to produce material that helps promote Wyoming architecture and bring awareness to the public.
