13 I n order to fulfill the committee’s mission to provide resources regarding architectural services and education of the architectural profession available to students, AIA Wyoming members and the public, the Education and Resources committee developed a series of educational box-programs that are available to AIA members for use at career days or other public functions to promote the profession. While working with AIA Wyoming members that have presented at schools across the state, the committee obtained input on various strategies to use when presenting at schools for each grade level. The programs are available on the AIA Wyoming website from the Educa- tion Resources pull down located under the Education tab. Most recently, the committee is working toward a partnership with Wyoming PBS to create a program that highlights architecturally significant buildings throughout the state. Cornelius secured grant funding for modeling a pavilion that was designed by Mies Van der Rohe. The building was never constructed, but the project was instrumental in Mies coming to the United States. Dynia Architects modeled the pavilion in Rhino from archived drawings. Cornelius also collected images of Jackson Lake Lodge and coordinated inter- views about each project. Both projects will be included in a PBS documentary about architecture in Wyoming that should be available yet this year. Progress resumed on the Pre-architecture program at Laramie Coun- ty Community College in Cheyenne. An articulation agreement is being finalized between LCCC and South Dakota State University. SDSU in Brookings offers a non-professional Bachelor of Science in Architectural Studies and a professional Master of Architecture degree (NAAB accredited). The LCCC Pre-architecture program would allow Wyoming students to earn up to 2.5 years of transferable credits while making use of the Hathaway Scholarship (if eligible). We are continuing our efforts to get the LCCC program started in the fall of 2016. Once the program is up and running, articulation agreements will be sought with additional schools offering accredited architecture programs. Dan Stalker is heading an effort to create an annual architecture lecture series at Sheridan College. While each of this year’s AIA Wyoming conferences included public presentations by conference speakers, Dan would like to introduce a component that is specific to college coursework.
