29 The conference kicked off with an evening of receptions that included food, drinks, live artist demonstrations and architecture displays as four local architecture firms joined the monthly Art Walk to form the Art and Architecture Walk. The walk included nearly twenty five different art and architecture related businesses in the downtown area – all within walking distance of each other – offering receptions that included a celebration of food, music, art and architecture. The evening concluded with the emerging professionals gathered at Ad- bay’s recently repurposed building for “ignite” presentations from young professionals – a sharing of stories, tips and tricks that make life and work easier, and a forum of people to talk about their projects and passions. The conference kicked off on Friday morning with the keynote speaker, TodWilliams, FAIA of TodWilliams Billie Tsien Architect of New York City, New York, who delivered an inspiring and thought-provoking dis- cussion on the firms compelling body of work with feature projects from around the world. The Wyoming Department of Administration and Information’s project manager, Suzanne Norton, AIA along with the Wyoming Department of State Parks and Cultural Resources, Sara Needles provided an in depth discussion on the current renovations at the Wyoming State Capitol building in Cheyenne that included the architectural renovations as well as the artwork in and on the grounds of the capitol building. Local glass artist, Janet Zambai, continued the discussion of art and archi- tecture with examples of projects with architectural glass of all types from her full production art glass studio including signage, cabinets, doors, trophies, donor walls, light fixtures and sinks and in all types from sand- blasting, painted, stained, fused and kiln sculpted. Her projects featured many where collaboration between the architect and artist enhanced the overall finished project.
