The TAXI site began redevelopment in the early 2000’s with the repurposing of the abandoned taxi terminal building, followed by new mixed-use structures and additional repurposed buildings as ad- jacent sites were added. The past five years has seen rapid development of RiNo as a vibrant living and working environment with improved infrastructure that includes a light rail line connecting downtown and the Denver International Airport. A pedestrian bridge across the river is planned to directly connect TAXI and RiNo, greatly improving walk, transit, and bike scores, currently 36, 41, 74. This will allow Freight Residences, on a site created out of a wasteland, convenient access to the community beyond the abundant TAXI site amenities. Freight Residences is Dynia Architects’ fourth completed project on the TAXI campus. Flight, Dynia’s fifth building at TAXI is currently under con- struction. b
