29 Throughout the conference, tours of local architecture were provided by AIAmembers. The first tour was at the location of the conference. The Evolution of a Golf Facility, a tour of the Powder Horn Golf Facilities was guided by Dan Stalker, AIA. Dan noted and discussed the original design, witnessed and commented on the successes and/or the shortcomings of the design after 12 years of operation. The afternoon tour was of the Historic Sheridan Inn was provided by Bill Goodman, AIA of TSP. The last time the su nce was held in Sheridan, the Historic Sheridan Inn was under construc- tion. Now the facility is finished, the attendees had the opportunity to see the completed shingle-style architecture with its distinctive gambrel structural shape that was constructed in the winter of 1892 and opened for business in June of 1893. After the tour of the Historic Sheridan Inn, a walking tour of the Sheri- dan Railroad Historic District, which includes the Inn was provided by Rick Sander, AIA of Dale BuckinghamArchitects. The tour provided the opportunity to see buildings constructed during Sheridan’s developmental years in the early 1900’s, how those buildings have been repurposed and the challenges in preserving the life of these structures. After a short scenic drive toThe BrintonMuseum in Big Horn the fol- lowing morning, attendees had the opportunity to learn about and see the largest single rammed earth wall in North America and how the design and construction of the difficult hillside siting was accomplished. The Brinton Museum in Big Horn tour was provided by Tim Belton, AIA, of Malone, Belton, Abel. The meeting was well attended and we had positive feedback about the content, venue and schedule.
