Paul started his career in his homeland of Austra- lia, having studied undergraduate and gradu- ate programs at the Queensland University of Technology. Paul’s career move to EDAW in Brisbane in 1999 started a journey that would bring him to the United States in early 2000 where he worked for EDAW in Fort Collins and New York City, then Saratoga Associates in New York City. The departure from EDAW in the early AECOM buyout days saw clients follow Paul and shed light into the concept of having his own firm. In 2007 that concept was realized when he moved back to Fort Collins to start Russell + Mills Studios with Craig Russell. The firm survived the Great Recession on the back of public work the firm specialized in from the outset of the start of the company. The firm has grown to be eight people with projects in Wyoming, Colorado Front Range, Asheville and one project still ongoing in New York City. The company has consistently had projects in Wyoming and enjoy a successful history and ongoing future with the State for the services it provides. The variety of services Russell + Mills Studios offer include planning, urban design, and landscape architecture for both private and public clients. The firm and Paul have a strong passion for high quality design combined with functionality that helps deliv- er timeless and successful projects. Paul has a specific focus on visitor experiences and how that key element is the driving force in creating inspired places.
