39 National Architecture Week Laramie Tours Continued T he University of Wyoming, Arena Auditorium Renovations and Addi- tions was developed through two major phases of construction which transformed the early 1980’s collegiate basketball venue into a modern facility working within the constraints of the NCAA basketball seasons, numerous code upgrades and the desire to achieve ties to the campus architecture. Built as a bermed concrete structure which housed the University of Wyoming’s basket- ball program since 1982, the existing struc- ture needed significant codes upgraded as a public arena venue with seating for 12,000 to 15,000 occupants. b UW Arena Auditorium Renovations & Additions T he University of Wyoming, Michael B. Enzi S.T.E.M Undergraduate Labo- ratory Facility was designed to house primarily first and second year courses in Physics, Life Sciences, Chemistry and Math, courses that are foundational to many degree programs. The design integrated transparency, technology infrastructure and daylighting through-out the facility while pragmatic at one level it became transformational for the University’s science, math and technology undergraduate programs. b UW Enzi STEM Facility
