Sheridan architect Dan Stalker, AIA, has been awarded the Louise Blanchard Bethune Fellowship for his role serving as AIA Wyoming’s Strategic Councilor from 2022 through 2024. The Fellowship Awards were presented at the AIA Governance Week celebration in Washington, D.C., on Dec. 11, 2024.

Dan’s focus was to support AIA’s mission to inspire and empower architects; to improve society and transform the world by fostering diversity and inclusion in the profession; and to advance the health, safety, and welfare of our communities through design and advocacy for lasting solutions in our built environments. His contributions encompassed design, climate, carbon, and water issues; artificial intelligence (AI); discussions on the value of architecture; wellbeing; and ongoing commitments to Equity, Diversity, and Inclusion.

The Louise Blanchard Bethune Fellowship is awarded to retiring members of the AIA Strategic Council, enabling them to continue their service as advisors and ambassadors for the organization. This Fellowship honors Louise Blanchard Bethune, the first American woman recognized as a professional architect and the first female to receive an AIA Fellowship.

Dan has practiced architecture and planning for over 44 years and has held leadership roles with AIA Wyoming, AIA Western Mountain Region (WMR), and, most recently, as an AIA strategic councilor.
